Your consumer rights

Products and services supplied by SpeedSafe Automotive come with consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law. This policy, and any warranty supplied with your purchase, does not exclude or limit those rights.

If a product has a major failure, you can choose a refund or replacement. If a service has a major failure, you may be entitled to cancel the service agreement and receive an appropriate refund, or keep the agreement at a reduced price. Compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage may also be available.

For a minor problem, we are generally entitled to put it right within a reasonable time. Further remedies may be available if the problem cannot be resolved within a reasonable time. The appropriate solution depends on the circumstances.

Read the ACCC guidance on repairs, replacements, refunds and cancellations.

Report a product or installation concern

Contact hello@speedsafe.au or use our contact page. Include your name, booking or invoice details, the product and vehicle involved, and a clear description of the issue. Photos or a short video can help where relevant; avoid including unrelated personal information.

We will discuss an assessment and the next steps with you. A reasonable opportunity to inspect the product or installation helps us identify the cause and the appropriate remedy. Contact us before posting equipment or arranging removal so we can discuss a suitable return or inspection method.

If a product was supplied by SpeedSafe, you can raise the concern with us directly. You do not have to deal only with the manufacturer. Keep a copy of your proof of purchase; a receipt is not the only way to establish a purchase.

Change-of-mind requests

We do not offer an automatic change-of-mind refund on every product or installation package. Opened hardware is considered case by case. Any agreed restocking charge will be explained before you accept a change-of-mind return.

Unopened accessories sold separately from an installation package may be considered for return within 14 days of purchase. Contact us with your purchase details and the condition of the item before returning it.

Completed installation labour is not refundable for change of mind. This does not limit remedies for faulty work or other failures to meet consumer guarantees.

The 14-day change-of-mind period is not a deadline for a faulty-product claim. Change-of-mind conditions and restocking charges do not restrict your statutory rights. Original packaging is not required to exercise rights for a faulty product.

Warranties and customer-supplied equipment

Any installation warranty or manufacturer warranty that applies is additional to your consumer guarantees. An expired warranty does not automatically mean that consumer guarantee rights have ended. Contact us for the warranty terms supplied with your installation or product.

For a camera you purchased elsewhere, the seller or manufacturer may be responsible for a hardware fault. SpeedSafe remains responsible for the installation services we provide and will assess concerns about our work. We can help distinguish a hardware issue from an installation issue.

Back up any footage you want to keep before equipment is assessed, repaired or replaced. A reset, repair or replacement may affect stored recordings or settings.

Return costs and refunds

For a confirmed consumer guarantee fault, reasonable return costs are handled as required by law. Where an item cannot reasonably be posted or transported, contact us to discuss collection or assessment. Keep receipts for reasonable return expenses.

Refunds are generally made using the original payment method unless another method is agreed. We will explain the remedy and any steps required once the assessment is complete. We will not deduct a restocking fee from a refund required under consumer guarantees.
